Scotland's first university padel club – cheap sessions, competitive spirit, and a growing community. Join the revolution!

About

If you're wandering around Edinburgh and spot a group of students heading towards Craigmillar Park, you might just be following the trail of the UOE Padel Club—Scotland's first university padel club, and trust me, they're making waves. Founded just last year, this club is already a vibrant hub of energy, with cheap £2 sessions that are the best deal in town, and a competitive side that nearly took the national league. Whether you're a complete beginner or a seasoned pro, their recreational sessions at Craigmillar Park are super laidback, while the competitive training at Game4Padel Edinburgh Park is where the serious fun happens. Grab a membership for £60 for the year and you'll be part of something that's growing faster than you can say 'smash'.

Full Description

Edinburgh University Padel Club (UOE Padel Club) was founded in March 2024, making it Scotland's pioneering padel club. It is one of the fastest-growing sport clubs under the Edinburgh University Students' Union (EUSU) and is entering its second official year in 2025/26. The club is open to all abilities and offers both recreational and competitive padel. It participates in the National Universities Padel League (NUPL), having nearly won it, and runs domestic and international tours, including trips to Newcastle and Malaga, Spain. The competitive setup includes three Men's squads (1st, 2nd, 3rd teams) and two Ladies squads (1st, 2nd team). Men's squads require trials, while Ladies' squads are open to all without trials, fostering an inclusive, no-pressure environment. Competitive sessions are held at Game4Padel Edinburgh Park, covered courts approximately 20 minutes by tram from Princes Street. Recreational weekly sessions take place at Craigmillar Park Tennis & Padel Club, located at Cameron Toll Shopping Centre, Lady Road, Edinburgh. These sessions cost around £2 per session, making them the cheapest padel rates in Edinburgh and nine times cheaper than the average London court. They are open to all abilities, and beginners are especially welcome. Membership options include a Full Year Membership for £60.00 and a Semester 2 Student Membership for £40.00. The club can be contacted via email at padel@ed.ac.uk or on Instagram @uoepadel, and further information is shared through a members' WhatsApp group and Instagram. The club aims to promote affordable and inclusive padel for all students internally while striving to lead the national competitive student padel scene externally. The club also has several official sponsors, including Rally Fuel, Finset, TENZING, Boxcey, Estrella Galicia, Bakuro Marketing, Padel Plan, The Padel Architects, Vitality, Cano Water, Lodders, Consultiv Utilities, Risk HQ, and Arobase Creative. Additionally, the club is listed on The Padel Directory as Edinburgh University Padel Society, with a Linktree (linktr.ee/uoepadel) offering links to book padel sessions for members and committee applications for the upcoming year.
