Edinburgh University Lawn Tennis Club provides weekly coaching for all abilities, competitive teams (men's and women's) in BUCS leagues, internal tournaments, and social events. The club also offers opportunities for coaching qualifications and volunteering.

Full Description

The University of Edinburgh Tennis Club (also known as Edinburgh University Lawn Tennis Club) is a student-led sports organization passionate about making tennis fun, exciting, and accessible for all students. The club is based at the Meadows Tennis Complex on Melville Drive, Edinburgh (EH8 9NL), and operates under the Edinburgh University Sports Union. The club offers a comprehensive weekly coaching programme that caters for all abilities, from beginners to performance athletes. Sessions run almost every day of the week and include Team Training, Club Coaching (Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced), Strength and Conditioning, Matchplay Practice, Integrated Training with the EoS County Programme, cardio tennis, club night, and social tennis. In addition to coaching, the club provides opportunities for regular competitive tennis, including internal box leagues, timed tennis, mixed doubles tournaments, club championships, and matches against other Scottish Universities. The club fields a strong competitive side, with six men’s and three women’s teams competing in the BUCS leagues, alongside men's and women's Development teams. There are also opportunities for students to gain professional qualifications alongside their studies, such as UKCC Level One coaching qualifications, refereeing qualifications, court official training, and safeguarding in sport. The club partners with Tennis Scotland and provides volunteering opportunities throughout the year, including with partnering clubs or the national governing body. Off the court, the club hosts a variety of fun-filled social nights throughout the semester, organized by the social secretaries. The club offers several membership options: Tennis Club Full Year Student Membership (£93.00), Tennis Club Semester 2 Student Membership (£59.50), Tennis Club Full Year Non-Student Membership (£102.00), Tennis Club Semester 1 Non Student Membership (£64.50), Tennis Club Semester 2 Non-Student Membership (£64.50). Additional top-ups are available for Development Team and BUCS Team participation. The club values include Participation, Opportunity, Inclusivity, and Development.
