Ross Murdoch is a Edinburgh-based padel and tennis coach, club manager, and international padel player. He is the Club Manager and Head Coach at Game4Padel Edinburgh Park and Thistle Padel Club, a role he took up on Monday 4th September. Ross is also a highly respected tennis coach with 24 years of tennis coaching experience (later described as 27 years total coaching experience). He took up padel about five to seven years ago (varying accounts: 'some five years ago' and 'about seven years ago') and rapidly became one of Scotland's finest padel players. Ross was born in Edinburgh but raised in Johannesburg. He is a fully qualified Padelmba CPC (Certified Padel Coach) and plans to roll out a vibrant junior programme, starting with 'mini' age (around five) up to teenagers, with six or seven junior sessions per week. He will also take adult coaching and one-to-one individual lessons, and he is putting together a team of three other coaches to help build the programme. Ross's competitive achievements include: being selected to represent Great Britain in the Senior Padel European Championships in Valencia, Spain, from October 19-26 (in the over-45 age group, partnering Mark Oppenshaw in the Open Pairs). He was also selected for the World Championships in Alicante the previous year. He represented Scotland in the 2026 Padel 4 Nations, where he secured a key win for Thistle alongside Dunfermline's Sam McNeill. He has also represented Great Britain at both the Senior World and European Championships. He was a key member of the East of Scotland men's tennis team that climbed to Division One of the LTA summer county cup and remained there, and recently helped East of Scotland men preserve their place in Division One of the British Championship (team also included David Holmes, Andy Burgess of Barnton Park, and Sammy Ralston of Edinburgh Sports Club). As part of the G4P Thistle men's team, he helped secure their place in Division One of the LTA National League Finals after finishing 5th. Ross is the Head Coach at Game4Padel Edinburgh Park (1 New Park Square, Edinburgh Park, Edinburgh EH12 9GR) and Thistle Padel Club. The Edinburgh Park venue features 2 covered indoor padel courts (artificial grass), 4 outdoor pickleball courts (hard court), and 1 multisport court for tennis/football/basketball.
