Evergreen Studio is a creative coworking studio located in the heart of Edinburgh's old town, at 3 Tweeddale Court, 14 High Street, Edinburgh EH1 1TE. It is just off the Royal Mile, a 5-minute walk from Edinburgh Waverley Station and main bus routes. The space was established in 2012 by founders who converted the old Scottish Poetry Library into a cool, modern workspace. The name 'Evergreen' was inspired by the radical magazine produced by Scottish sociologist and polymath Patrick Geddes (1854–1932). The building itself dates back as far as 1576. Evergreen Studio is independently run and offers a quiet shared workspace limited to only 8 desks. It is home to freelancers, startups, and SMEs working in a diverse range of creative disciplines including architecture, urban landscape architecture, filmmaking, photography, graphic design, web development, digital marketing, science, and education. The community is described as friendly and supportive, with members regularly sharing resources, ideas, biscuits, and banter. Shoutouts of members' successes are made on social media. Amenities include superfast Wi-Fi, heating, free coffee and tea (with Aeropress and French cafetière), free drinking water, a fully equipped kitchen, an outdoor terrace (great for BBQs in warmer months), wheelchair accessibility (ground floor), 24/7 access for members, printing (A3 colour printer, A4 scanner), an A1 drawer and shelf space, and a bookable meeting room (free to use). Desks are very large, comfortably accommodating three screens, and can be personalised. The studio offers excellent natural light. The inclusive desk rental price also covers a registered Edinburgh business address. Pricing: Dedicated desk is GBP £220 per month (excl. VAT). Daily and annual passes are available on request. Subscription terms require a 2-month deposit, 2 months' notice, and are without commitment. Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8:30am–7:00pm, Saturday and Sunday closed, but members have 24/7 access.
