Inverleith Park is a large public park in Edinburgh, Scotland, located at Arboretum Road, EH3 5NY, with a secondary address of 30 Arboretum Place, EH3 5NZ. The park is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It is wheelchair accessible and has parking available. The park features a range of sports facilities, including a full-size pitch, a rugby pitch, a cricket square, and four outdoor tennis courts. The tennis courts are tarmac-surfaced, all-weather, and were refurbished and reopened in September 2023 after a substantial renovation managed by the LTA (Lawn Tennis Association). The renovation was funded by the City of Edinburgh Council, the UK Government, and the LTA Tennis Foundation as part of the Parks Tennis Project – the biggest ever investment in parks tennis facilities across Britain, transforming 13 courts across the capital. The four outdoor courts are full-size, have no floodlights, and are available for booking all year round. Courts 1-4 are all tarmac. There are no indoor courts. The park also has grass surfaces for other sports. The park is managed by the LTA and operated by POD Point (UK) for the EV charging facilities. There are 15 EV charging points, all Type 2 (Socket Only) with 7 kW power, Level 2 AC (Single-Phase), 230V, 32A. The usage cost has a complicated tariff structure: £0.45/kWh and £0.75/kWh, and it does not accept cash only. The park has online booking available through ClubSpark at https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/InverleithPark. Courts can be booked up to 7 days in advance at a cost of £1 per hour. For a 3-hour booking the cost is £3. The booking platform is also available via the LTA website at https://www.lta.org.uk/play/book-a-tennis-court/courts/inverleith-park_c929c250-8db6-4be5-8c84-f12a2f34ca95/. To access the court, users enter a star key followed by a 6-digit code, and can access the court up to 10 minutes before the booking start time. The cancellation/refund policy requires cancellation more than 24 hours in advance to receive a refund. The park offers free social tennis sessions every weekend through the Barclays Free Parks Tennis programme. These sessions are one hour long, beginner/intermediate/improver level, held on Sundays from 10:00 to 11:00 (running from 22 March 2026 to 28 June 2026). No equipment is needed. A brand-new junior and adult coaching programme is available, and there is a call for volunteers to become tennis activators.
