Full Description

Thistle Padel Club is a dedicated padel venue located at Thistle Padel, Paties Road, Katesmill Road, Edinburgh EH14 1JF, in the Fountainbridge/Craiglockhart locality of Colinton. It is operated under the Game4Padel brand and is situated at the Thistle Tennis club. The club opened its covered canopy in November 2019, quickly growing the local padel scene through events like Fit4Padel and gaining a reputation in LTA national league competitions. The club has two covered courts (indoor/covered) surfaced with artificial grass, manufactured by Adidas and Redsport, and equipped with free LED floodlights. The courts are open all year round from 08:00 to 22:00 every day of the week. Thistle Padel is open to both pay-and-play players and members. Membership starts from £5 per month via direct debit and offers benefits including reduced court costs, priority booking, access to coaching and social events, and discounts on equipment. An all-inclusive membership is coming soon. Pay-and-play pricing per player: Weekdays 8am–5pm: Members £4, Non-members £7; Weekdays 5pm–10pm: Members £6, Non-members £8; Weekends 8am–10pm: Members £6, Non-members £8. Courts can be booked online via MATCHi (membership required for booking) or through Playskan, with typical hourly rates of £24–£32. Rackets and balls are provided free of charge at the courts. Racket rental is also available on-site. The club has a range of amenities: a café, shop, bar, lockers, free parking, and changing rooms with showers. Wheelchair access is available, and accessible toilets are provided. The venue also has 15 Type 2 electric vehicle charging points (7kW each, Level 2), operated by POD Point (UK). The club accepts credit and debit cards; cash is not accepted. Coaching is available under head coach Ross Murdoch, one of Scotland's most experienced padel coaches. Ross has 27 years of coaching experience (starting in tennis, transitioning to padel in 2020) and is a leading open-category player who has represented Scotland in the 2026 Padel 4 Nations and Great Britain at Senior World and European Championships. He offers group and individual coaching for all levels. Regular activities include Adult Padel Lesson Beginners (Mondays 7–8pm, £16/£14 for members), Adult Padel Lesson Intermediate (various times, £16/£14), and U3A Padel sessions (Tuesdays 10–11:30am and 11:30am–1pm, £14, exclusive to University of the 3rd Age members).
